BoatMexico’s owners have joined the Puerto Vallarta Council of the U.S. Navy League (USNL), a charitable organization that recognizes the importance of the seas and international relations. The Puerto Vallarta Council is a civilian organization whose membership is made up of men and women from the United States, Canada, Mexico and other nations of the World. This volunteer organization sponsors community social projects, the Toy’s for Tots program in Puerto Vallarta, and in addition to its other voluntary services, arranges transportation of donated goods such as medical and school supplies from such organizations as “Bridges Across Borders.” Also, safety at sea is a primary mission of all the associated vessels, Mexican and U.S. The help keep safe the seas that we enjoy cruising.

We at BoatMexico are proud to help support such missions. If you are interested in joining the U.S. Navy League, please see their website for detailed information.

Train Lake

If you want to venture beyond the beaches, Mexico has a wide variety of opportunities. Take for instance, this train ride in the state of Chihuahua. The canyons provide a stark contrast to the rolling seas and palmed beaches.

This Tarajumara child lives in a semi-cave home. Many of the children have scarring beneath their noses from the perpetual running noses from this cold environment. With elevations often around 8,000 feet above sea level, it becomes extremely cold in the winter.

The water still brings us some of the most spectacular scenery as seen below.

Do you want to sell or trade some of those things you thought you couldn’t live without on your cruising boat, but now find them taking up more room than they are worth? Prepare your ad and be first to offer them to another boater. (Be sure to see buying, selling & trading policy).

BoatMexico (remember it is not Boat Mexico, but one word, if you search for us on Google) is opening it’s website in a temporary FORUM structure in a few days while our regular site is being developed. You can place your ads and soon find ads by others.

You will find interesting and helpful articles by our Travel Medicine specialist, Dr. Luis Suarez. Our legal expert, Laura Joachin, will bring you information to deal with such things as boat importation, leaving your boat in Mexico while traveling out of country, and other important articles to help protect you from unpleasant and costly surprises for the uninformed.

Maintenance, survey, and other practical boating tips for operating in these tropical areas will be provided by Doug Danielson (Captain Doug).

If your are not on a boat, but would like to have a fabulous sailing experience, check out Vallarta Adventures with America’s Cup yacht excursions in Cabo San Lucas and Puerto Vallarta. For what’s happening around Banderas Bay, an excellent online publication is Banderas News.
