$37,000 Price reduction - mama says a new baby is coming! This is stealing this boat - come and take a look, you will agree! Sceptre 41s are highly sought after, and seldom put on the market, pilothouse sailing yachts. Their long production run and tremendous reputation is due to their ability to deliver on many fronts. They are carefully built to a robust standard. They sail very well on all points of sail and incorporate a low, very attractive, pilothouse with inside steering. The layout is excellent for a cruising couple or family.
This vessel went through a total refit in 2004 where all of her electronics, solar panels, controllers, alternator, regulators, wiring, total mast refit, rod rigging, safety gear – on and on, was upgraded. This owner prepared her for a circumnavigation and she has an extensive set of spare parts. She is without a doubt the best equipped Sceptre 41 ever. Over $100,000 in improvements in 2004. She is ready for you to take her to any part of the world you wish to go.

Fishing Report for Oct. 9 2008 for Boat Mexico. Written by BoatMexico’s Fishing Experts Stan Gabruk of Master Baiter’s Sportfishing and Tackle
A strong dollar and a bay full of fish, makes PV the place to be!

When it comes to fishing, especially in Puerto Vallarta where we’re famous for our productive fishing grounds, the glass is always half-empty or half-full, depending on your state of mind. Here in Puerto Vallarta, we’re all a lot jaded because for us, a two hundred pound Yellowfin Tuna is common place at this time of the year. Anything less than perfect in Puerto Vallarta (PV to the locals) and the glass is automatically half-empty.
Now, if you’ve been reading my reports, you know that the fishing in PV has been anything but “Bad”! Blue and Black Marlin are plentiful and they’re in the 700 lb range RIGHT NOW. How many people on this planet have ever caught a fish even half that size? The half-full guys will tell you that we’re used to boating Granders or Marlin over a thousand pounds by now. But in reality, we don’t see that many fish bordering on a thousand pounds, very seldom actually reaching a thousand pounds. So, I prefer to be a half-full type of guy and focus on the positive rather than the negative. I mean, IF there is a negative to catching a world class fish….

PREPARING TO GO CRUISING
Getting ready to coastal cruise or take off on an extended voyage to Mexico and Central America? Here are some thoughts from our Maintenance Loft Expert, a marine surveyor and delivery skipper.
by
Doug Danielson
Working as a marine surveyor and delivery skipper living in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, I inspect a lot of cruising sailboats and trawlers that have made it this far—usually in the second or third year of cruising life. Some of the vessels are skippered by self-sufficient sailors, who are really well prepared.
… Others—some coming down in the BAJA-HA-HA—are still unprepared. They have had nothing but terrible experiences so far, haven’t learned a thing, and are ready to pack it in and sell the boat. I enjoy talking to these folks also, because they’ll probably end up hiring me to take their vessel back to the States. Here are my observations on what I think made the difference between the two types of cruisers…
